This is a hands-on role to safely provide quality electrical knowledge and skills to build projects that meet customer and Nomad specifications. To install, test and quality assure the 12V and 120V systems within projects. Evaluate and continuously improve electrical processes, in Nomad while maintaining consistent use of existing ones.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • Splicing wires and soldering connections to fixtures and equipment.

  • Diagnosing or repairing problems with electrical equipment, such as lights, relays, battery isolators, generators sound, navigation, communication, security equipment, and leveling systems in motor vehicles.

  • Installing equipment and accessories such as stereos, navigation equipment, communication equipment, and security systems.

  • Running wires and cables for AC and DC systems, controls, and various electronic appliances.

  • Cutting openings and drilling holes for fixtures and equipment, using electric drills, air saws, and multi-tools.

  • Replace electrical or electronic components.

  • Build wooden enclosures and carpeted wall panels to custom fit vehicle dimensions.

  • Ability to be cross-trained in areas including, but not limited to, flooring installation, plumbing, door, and window installation, HVAC, cabinet and countertop making, welding, and I.T. integration.

  • Additional duties as needed by supervisor.

    Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Understands the significance of the Nomad Core Values and display a demonstrated willingness to apply them to your work.

  • Readiness and understanding of electrical pull sheets and wiring diagrams.

  • Electrical concepts, processes, and theories of 120VAC and 12VDC.

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.

  • Knowledge of principles and methods for training, teaching and instructing individuals or a group, and the measurement of the training effects.

    Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and listen.

  • The employee must have the strength to safely lift up to 60 pounds without assistance

  • Follow documented safety guidelines for all equipment and processes.

  • Partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending on the time of year, the current work environment is partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, the working temperature can fluctuate between 60F and 100F, but typically is held around 70F.

  • The Employee must have the ability to work from heights at ground floor up to 20’ from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.

  • The Employee may be subjected to noise levels which may range from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time. A Hearing Conservation Test was performed, eliminating the requirement for hearing protection; however, it is available if personally needed.

  • The Employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals which will require the Employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by that chemical’s MSDS.

  • All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times on the Production Floor.

  • PPE – The Employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties. In some cases (painting, insulating, undercoating, etc.) the team member may be required to wear a respirator. No Team Member is to perform the duties requiring a respirator until they have successfully complied with the Respiratory Protection Program.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • 1-5+ years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience.

  • OR 1-2 years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience outside of Nomad GCS and secondary education certification specific to electrical.

  • 1-5+ years of experience reading and following CAD.
