Opportunity Bank of Montana is adding to our outstanding team with a Loan Servicing Quality Control Manager in Helena, Montana. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of loan data within our loan servicing core platform and is responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance oversight of the Bank's loan servicing quality control program. Ensures timely and accurate review of all booked loans, daily file maintenance, loan activities and accounting entries, including maintaining adherence to legal requirements, industry standards, regulations, investor guidelines, secondary market requirements and best practices, along with established bank processes, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of loan data within our loan servicing core platform.

  • Develop and maintain quality assurance oversight of the Bank's loan servicing quality control program, including but not limited to identifying, reviewing, and making recommendations on key risks and control issues.

  • Ensure timely and accurate review of all booked loans, daily file maintenance, loan activities and accounting entries, including adherence to established processes, policies, and procedures.

  • Analyze loan servicing quality control workflows and identify opportunities for efficiency gains. Collaborate with other loan servicing department managers to streamline processes for enhanced productivity and implement best practices to improve overall loan servicing quality.

  • Stay informed about legal requirements, industry standards, regulations, investor guidelines, secondary market requirements and best practices related to loan servicing. Ensure that loan servicing practices align with legal requirements, industry standards, regulations, investor guidelines, secondary market requirements, best practices, internal policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines.

  • Manage all quality assurance and control process audits and testing performed by other departments and/or internal and external auditors. Track exceptions, identify trends, identify root cause, ensure corrections are made, and report to loan servicing management. Assist with preparing management responses.

  • Oversee research and resolving exceptions on complicated transactions based on quality control periodic review reports or reported issues. Work closely with loan servicing management and staff to address discrepancies promptly.

  • Prepare detailed reports on quality control testing, audit findings, trends, and performance metrics. Maintain accurate records of test and audit results and corrective actions taken. Present findings to loan servicing department management and recommend process enhancements.

  • Ensure accurate credit reporting, complete monthly metric reports, and ensure corrections to loan accounts are correct.

  • Retest audit and testing recurrent and/or high-risk exceptions.

  • Responsible for supervising, training, directing tasks and developing loan servicing quality control staff on quality control process, procedures, and compliance requirements. Foster an environment of continuous learning and professional development among the quality control department staff by providing ongoing feedback and appropriate supervised delegation to enhance their growth and skills. Responsible for conducting annual reviews of quality control department staff.

  • Assist with internal communications and collaboration with all departments that interact with loan servicing.

  • Assist with exam preparation.

  • Be familiar with all functions performed in loan servicing department.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    2-year college degree (accounting, business, finance, management or related) & 2 years relevant experience - or equivalent combination of education & experience

    Supervisory/leadership and training experience

    Strong knowledge of loan servicing related systems, software and providers, regulatory and compliance requirements and current related issues, and investor requirements and regulations

    Education and Experience Preferences

    4-year college degree (accounting, business, finance, management or related) & 4 years relevant experience - or equivalent combination of education & experience

    2-4 years progressively responsible leadership in loan servicing industry.
