Instrument, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) Technician
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in technician and maintenance experience in electrical power generation and gas turbine
- Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
- Commitment to safe working practices and knowledge of safety policies and procedures
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Successfully complete a DGGS Maintenance Technician Qualification within probation period of one year
- Ability to work overtime including participating in on-call rotation schedules, working evenings and weekend shifts in response to acute service needs
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from floor level to waist level on a minimal basis
- Ability to travel to meetings and training
- Ability to pass an employment physical, drug test, and background check
- Technical Degree in the Technical Field or similar is preferred
- Experience working with voltages up to 13,800 volts is preferred
- First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
- Arc Flash Training preferred
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems
- Maintain complete equipment files, logs and drawings for all designated equipment
- Keep track of spare parts as they are used and complete a usage report in order to replace items as necessary
- Assist in physical inventories with other co-workers
- Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records
- Inspect, repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems and storage batteries
- Operate with electrical systems up to and including 13,800 volts
- Use hand tools and power tools
- Operate heavy equipment machinery such as forklift and bobcat
- Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on DCS, PLC (Allen-Bradley experience preferred), and PWPS turbine control equipment
- Research control and alarm systems
- Train operators on troubleshooting electrical equipment
- Train new employees
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Full-time position.
$25.97 - $52.01 per hour, depending on experience.
