Instrument, Controls & Electrical (IC&E) Technician

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in technician and maintenance experience in electrical power generation and gas turbine
  • Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record
  • Commitment to safe working practices and knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
  • Successfully complete a DGGS Maintenance Technician Qualification within probation period of one year
  • Ability to work overtime including participating in on-call rotation schedules, working evenings and weekend shifts in response to acute service needs
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds from floor level to waist level on a minimal basis
  • Ability to travel to meetings and training
  • Ability to pass an employment physical, drug test, and background check
  • Technical Degree in the Technical Field or similar is preferred
  • Experience working with voltages up to 13,800 volts is preferred
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
  • Arc Flash Training preferred

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Perform preventive maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency backup systems
  • Maintain complete equipment files, logs and drawings for all designated equipment
  • Keep track of spare parts as they are used and complete a usage report in order to replace items as necessary
  • Assist in physical inventories with other co-workers
  • Participate in the administrative maintenance of the plant operating manuals, technical references, prints and diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records
  • Inspect, repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems and storage batteries
  • Operate with electrical systems up to and including 13,800 volts
  • Use hand tools and power tools
  • Operate heavy equipment machinery such as forklift and bobcat
  • Conduct troubleshooting and analysis on DCS, PLC (Allen-Bradley experience preferred), and PWPS turbine control equipment
  • Research control and alarm systems
  • Train operators on troubleshooting electrical equipment
  • Train new employees
  • Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
  • Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Full-time position.

$25.97 - $52.01 per hour, depending on experience.
