SMITH CATTLE COMPANY Ag Equipment Operator in BIG TIMBER, Montana

Temporary full time from 4/1/2024 - 10/31/2024. Ag Equipment Operator will be required to work in a variety of roles throughout the harvest season for the production of winter wheat and spring wheat, barley. Workers will be required to operate farm equipment such as tractors, harvesters, combines, swathers, rollers, grain trucks, and augers. Workers will be required to load and unload grain trucks, and grain storage units; must be mechanically inclined in order to perform light maintenance and repairs on equipment, tractors and trucks; work with GPS and precision ag equipment; pay close attention to the details and keep accurate records. Must also be willing to assist in other areas of the farm as needed; such as picking rocks, running parts, tearing down fencing; grounds maintenance and facility cleaning and maintenance. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs; be on their feet or on a tractor throughout the day and must be willing to work 10 hour days during harvest (July through end of September). The job entails working with farm machinery, outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, wind, dust, rain, snow) and occasional exposure to poisonous snakes and predators. Extensive walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting and long hours sitting and operating farm equipment is required. A minimum of 3 months of experience with the harvesting of wheat and pulse crops, equipment maintenance, and all other tasks shown above is required for this position. Increased wages and or bonus may be possible depending on experience.
