BILLINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT 2 ACCOUNTANT III / SECRETARY III in BILLINGS, Montana

ACCOUNTANT III / SECRETARY III - Billings Public Schools - Lincoln Center. Schedule: 12-months; 8 hours per day; Monday-Friday. Starts September 2024. Salary (60/40 split): - Accountant III - $20.20 per hour for 90 workday probationary period; then $22.45 per hour (60%). - Secretary III - $18.43 per hoer for 90 workday probationary period; then $20.48 per hour (40%). This position is at the Lincoln Center which is the central office for the Billings Public Schools (BPS). This position provides the highest level of administrative support for BPS in a fast-paced office environment. Under the general direction of central office Executive Directors, the successful applicant will perform administrative and budgetary duties and will take a lead role on various projects. The position requires considerable independent judgment and discretion. Oversees and assumes responsibility for all administrative functions and resources within the office in collaboration with other Lincoln Center administrative support. Implements and refines admin office procedures; prepares scheduled and impromptu reports; plans, schedules, trains, and coordinates projects; oversees and coordinates the day-to-day functions of the office. Key accountabilities: Office management functions, Executive Director's calendars and events management, Filing and record keeping, document management, meeting preparation and support, communications and customer relations, data management and research, supply ordering and budget reporting for large grants, account reconciliation, track continuing education (trade hours) for teachers tracking CEU's in Midas software platform. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Excellent phone and communication skills. - A sense for routine management decisions to help department. - Multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment. - Strong computer skills, Word and Excel. - Arrange and schedule meetings. - Assist and maintain budget records and financial reports. - Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: - Requires a High School diploma or equivalent. - Two years of secretarial coursework at a technical school or college; three years of secretarial experience and/or combination of education and experience.
