EAR NOSE & THROAT ASSOCIATES, INC. ADMINISTRATIVE MEDICAL ASSISTANT in BILLINGS, Montana

ENT Associates is seeking an Administrative Medical Assistant to work under the direction of a licensed health care professional and perform various clinical and administrative tasks. This position is equally parts administrative and medical assistant, so it requires a clinical knowledge base to help facilitate patient care. The Administrative Medical Assistant performs the following administrative responsibilities but are not limited to: - Assists with prescription refill requests - Processes medication refills as directed by a provider and according to hospital policies - Obtains prior authorizations for medication - Obtains prior authorizations for DME - Screens telephone calls and takes accurate clinical messages within the Medical Assisting scope of practice as well as in accordance with ENT policies - Returns patient calls with provider directed instructions - Assists patients and providers in completing documentation and any other paperwork which is needed. - Follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct - Measures and records vital signs, growth parameters, medical histories, and signs and symptoms into the patient file. - Communicates patient related information to the licensed health care provider - Performs hearing tests, and other diagnostic testing within the Medical Assisting scope. - Prepares and administers medications with provider authorization and adheres to all regulations, guidelines, and policies for appropriate medications storage, mixing, disposal, inventory, and labeling of medications - Assists the provider with exams, when requested - Removes sutures, changes dressings, applies bandages and other first aid procedures, when requested by provider - Prepares and instructs patients about examinations, diagnostic tests, medications, special diets, and health maintenance - Disposes of bio-hazardous materials in accordance with OSHA safety standards and hospital policies - Demonstrates infection control standards related to hand washing and standard precautions including ensuring that all equipment in exam room is cleaned according to company policies - Follows ENT and OSHA safety rules and procedures at all times - Upholds HIPAA regulations - Remains up to date with certifications, company mandated training and professional development. - Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested. Hours: Monday through Friday. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Summer Hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wage: $18.00 to $23.50 per hour based on experience.
