Bureau of Reclamation Administrative Support Assistant (OA) in Billings, Montana

Summary Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA). Duty Location: Billings, Montana For living conditions go to: https://www.usbr.gov/gp/employment/living_conditions.pdf Responsibilities - Serves as a Purchase Line Charge Card holder for the Area Office Charge Card Program; reviews monthly charge card and purchase statements for accuracy; ensures that all micro-purchasing is done correctly and stays within guidelines. - Performs a wide range of administrative and clerical support duties to include mail management, database entry, purchasing, and timekeeping duties. - Utilizes software to prepare, review and track various correspondence ensuring documents are in compliance with office policy and procedure. - Responsible for maintaining Area Office official federal records in an automated database; provides records related assistance for Area Office and field office staff. - Serves as a travel coordinator preparing travel documents such as authorizations and vouchers for Area office employees; provides assistance to traveling employees. Requirements Conditions of Employment You must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National. You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation. Qualifications In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. GS-06: Specialized Experience: One (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent in responsibility and scope to the GS-05 level; or its non-Federal equivalent that includes experience performing receptionist duties such as greeting visitors and answering telephone calls; and providing administrative and clerical support for an office with such duties as managing correspondence and maintaining electronic records and databases. This position requires a qualified typist who can type at least 40 words per minute. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, by 12/30/2024. Education This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Additional Information You may be required to serve an initial probationary period. Current, permanent Federal employees who are selected from this announcement may be required to serve a probationary period.
