The Aviation Program at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August 2022. The successful candidate must have a broad background in aviation and be able to adapt to teaching a variety of aviation courses. These could include any FAA Part 141 ground school courses, aircraft systems and power plants, aviation safety, a variety of topics in aviation management, airline dispatch, etc. Opportunities to teach as a CFI in an airplane could exist, if desired, but is not expected of the employee. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a course load of 12 contact hours both fall and spring semesters.Required: A master's degree in aviation, education, business or a related field is required. FAA Certified Flight Instructor Instrument Airplane (CFI-IA) qualifications are desired. Experience as a Commercial pilot is also desired, although applicants with different aviation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.Wage: Starting salary will be in the low $60,000s and commensurate with experience.The Aviation Program offers majors in Aeronautical Science (Professional Pilot) and Aviation Management.
