Billings Clinic Audiology Assistant in Billings, Montana

Under general supervision of the audiologist, assist patients in the fitting of hearing aid devices and assists with the resolution of hearing aid problems. Schedules patient appointments and provides clerical and shipping/receiving support within the department.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
• Greet, escort and schedule patients
• Package and mail earmold orders, device repairs and factory returns.
• Performs inventories of equipment and supplies. Enter clinic supply orders.
• Performs checks on hearing aids and other amplification devises. Clean hearing aids and other devices. Performs troubleshooting and minor repairs to hearing aids, earmolds and other devices. Perform electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids and other devices.
• Instruct patients in proper use and care of hearing aids and other amplification devices. Demonstrates alerting and assistive listing devices. Instructs patients in proper ear hygiene.
• Assist audiologists in treat programs and with setup and technical tasks including restoring settings in hearing aids and other amplification devices.
• Maintain and stock treatment rooms.
• Perform equipment maintenance and biological checks.
• Assist audiologists in hearing testing of pediatric patients.
• Perform infection control duties
• Assist patients in completing case history and other relevant forms.
• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance. Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of patient care. Identifies and anticipates problems and safety issues and initiates appropriate action.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the departmen t/organization.
