Intermountain Health Behavioral Health Counselor in Billings, Montana

Job Description:

In this position, the Behavioral Health Counselor provides a wide variety of psychotherapeutic services for common mental and emotional difficulties.

  • Provides comprehensive intake examinations and mental health assessments and determines accurate DSM V multiaxial diagnosis based on clinical information.

  • Provides Mental Health services to individuals, couples, families, and groups, using a variety of treatment approaches and tools.

  • Makes appropriate referrals for patients needing services outside the scope of BHA.

  • Maintain a professional environment to conduct onsite/virtual patient interaction

  • Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in social work or licensed clinical professional counselor or related field is required.

  • Current Montana Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Montana Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire is preferred.

  • Two (2) years post licensure experience.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.

  • Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.

  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.

  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$25.73 - $45.71
