Business Analyst - Hospital Medicine

Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt)

Starting Wage DOE: $25.12 - 31.40

The Business Analyst serves as the primary technology resource for related clinical/financial information systems within the designated service line. Responsibilities include planning and design of business data reports and resources needed to meet business goals/objectives, facilitation of the integration of data, information, knowledge and/or systems to support improved productivity, efficiency, decision making, and/or quality outcomes in all roles and health care settings. Position is responsible for analyzing data, information and working with leadership team on key performance Indicators. Develops and provides a variety of reports. Provides technical expertise to the service line and others that work with this service line. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service.

• Serves as resource for clinical/financial information data within the designated service line. Coordinates closely with Billings Clinic Leadership, staff members, Information Services staff, and key stakeholders for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, evaluation and support to meet business goals and objectives.

• Acts as a liaison and expert resource to identify problems and concerns regarding the overall performance of the clinical/financial aspects within the designated service line. Researches, analyzes and makes recommendations and/or initiates corrective actions.

• Business Analysts are required to work independently with minimal supervision and are responsible for continual analysis, development, validation, maintenance and improvement in quality data reports for internal and external reporting. This role serves as the primary data and technology resource to the service line Responsibilities to help with the development of essential reporting processes to include extracting, synthesizing, and verification of clinical and/or financial information, report design and generation, identification of trends, and development of recommendations for further review. Responsible for extracting, understanding, and presenting quality data information, trends, and outcomes to all levels in the organization to include Billings Clinic leadership, management, medical staff and all others necessary.

• Provides technical support and acts as a resource responding to procedural questions regarding system functionality and technical interaction with other Billings Clinic system applications.

• Duties include gathering and analysis for strategic and/or tactical projects, assisting of organizational change with service line

• Participates in the development and maintaining of policies and standard operating procedures for service line.

• Recommends innovative quality improvement activities related to informatics or information within designated service line.

• Assists with leadership team in all aspects of operations related to service line.

• Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments as it relates to assigned department, business unit and/or organization.

• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance.

• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Bachelor’s degree in a field related to work

Experience

• 1-2 years of healthcare experience preferred

Certifications

• Demonstrated data gathering and analysis skills

• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
