Western Security Bank Commercial Loan Assistant in Billings, Montana

About The Role

Western Security Bank is currently seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Assistant. The Commercial Loan Assistant II will provide loan processing support to the commercial lending staff. The Commercial Loan Assistant II position requires a range of duties including, but not limited to, pulling credit reports, loan file preparation, lien releases, collateral tracking while maintaining a high level of quality control. The Commercial Loan Assistant will collect, provide, and prepare loan documentation. This position requires the ability to interpret, understand and execute established policies and procedures. The Commercial Loan Assistant demonstrates a high degree of accountability through utilization of knowledge, skills and actions that protect the assets of WSB and its customers.

The Commercial Loan Assistant will work independently as well as in cross functional teams with various levels of knowledge. These cross functional teams assist internal support staff to accomplish position/department/customer goals within regulatory/policy guidelines. Will also serve as a liaison maintaining a professional, customer service-oriented demeanor in all contact.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

TECHNICAL DUTIES

  • Pull customer credit reports.
  • Locate CRA information.
  • Responsible for customer file preparation including the loan file order and completion of the checklist.
  • Responsible for collateral tracking including entering the information and required follow-up.
  • Responsible for various correspondence including tax return letters, insurance letters and any other required correspondence.
  • Answers phones and directs customers to appropriate bank resource to answer questions.
  • Exhibit proficiency on equipment and job-required software including Citrix, Windows 2010, Xperience, Silverlake and Jack Henry.
  • Responsible for ticketing loans, general ledger, and deposits.
  • Processes paid notes and updates history.
  • Responsible for Lien releases/reconveyances including vehicle, UCC, Deed of Trust and Mortgage.
  • Scanning and filing loan documents and files.

CUSTOMER RELATIONS

MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES

  • Complete required bank and OnCourse training courses within assigned time frame(s).

  • Other duties as assigned.


About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or (GED) required.
  • A minimum of 12 months related loan, loan processing, loan assistant, and/or loan servicing experience required.
  • Previous Xperience, Silverlake and/or LaserPro system experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Ability to read and understand policies, procedures and training materials.
  • Knowledge of and ability to understand all loan codes.
  • Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to use listed tools and equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective personal working relationships with peers and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: regularly lifting or moving up to 10 founds and infrequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
