CITY OF BILLINGS DESIGNER / CAD TECHNICIAN in BILLINGS, Montana
The City of Billings is seeking a Designer / CAD Technician to provide design and drafting services for projects and tasks and maintain and update various maps and databases. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Researches records, plats, maps, easements, utility information, and other data pertaining to engineering projects. - Incorporates survey and topographic data into project design. - Performs design and drafting work which involves compliance with construction codes, ordinances, policies, and plans. - Develops designs in accordance with standard engineering practice. - Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete municipal infrastructure projects. - Updates and manages design standard drawings. - Demonstrates commitment to compliance with project CAD standards. - Maintains complete and accurate files and databases. - Maintains and updates Division CAD templates and standards. - Responds to and resolves public inquiries and complaints. Required Qualifications and Skills: - Associate?s degree, technical school degree, or specialized CAD certification with specialized training beyond high school, or equivalent - Strong interpersonal skills - A valid Montana driver?s license or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment Preferred Qualifications and Skills: Auto CAD Civil 3-D design and drafting background experience in roadway, corridor modeling, and municipal utility plan production Experience with city government and knowledge of department or function operations. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Salary: $29.4047 - $39.3766 per hour. Salary reflects Step 1 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale.
