This position will provide overall vision, direction, and management of the Billings Clinic – Logan Health Flight and Ground Ambulance Operations., consisting of both flight and ground operations. This position will ensure the highest level of clinical care while maintaining a sustainable and successful operation.

Essential Job Functions

Management Job Duties:

Strategic Execution

Drives organizational objectives by operationalizing changes and initiatives effectively and efficiently. Proactively anticipates both the needs of the health system and the impact operations has on the organization’s success. Collect and analyze data, prepares, and presents recommendations, and explains associated benefits and risks for improving operations.

Business Acumen

Demonstrates and further develops competencies in the areas of leadership, financial management, employee engagement, human resources knowledge, organizational dynamics and governance, organizational communication, strategic planning, change management, risk management, compliance, patient safety, patient experience, and quality improvement. Demonstrates professional ownership, self-development, and a desire for life-long learning.

Emotional Intelligence

Serves as a role model for others by exhibiting the Health System core values of: Leading and influencing the team to provide outstanding customer service. Develops and fosters relationships with health system leaders, departments, and members of the team to support open communication, trust, transparency, and collaboration.

Leadership

Creates a supportive department culture by fostering individual motivation, coaching, and training for optimum job performance. Collaborates with Human Resources to develop, implement and support programs and processes that add value to the health system, its leadership, and employees. Leads to improves culture, employee and physician engagement, empowerment, growth, and retention, while remaining committed to the Health System’s management and prosperity for its customers, employees, and community.

Job Specific Duties

• Provides leadership for the assigned area(s) within the organization.

• Responsible for all management aspects of Flight and Ground Ambulance Services.

• Develops and adequately communicates the vision of the organization.

Interfaces with leadership and appropriate Billings Clinic – Logan Health executives to coordinate and lead the Flight and Ground Ambulance Services at all business, financial and operational levels.

• Responsible for budget preparation and maintenance for department and system services.

• Monitors the financial performance and condition of the assigned area(s) and takes corrective action as necessary to maintain fiscal sustainability.

• Develops necessary policies and procedures to effectuate the successful administration and operation of assigned area(s).

• Acts as the liaison for the organization with the supporting foundations providing philanthropy for operations.

• Assesses effectiveness and sustainability utilizing appropriate benchmarking and analytic methods.

• Performs statistical analysis of the business, operational, and financial performance for assigned area(s).

• Implements and maintains appropriate organizational Key Performance Indicators.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business administration, public health administration, emergency medical services or related field required.

• Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in general emergency medical and medical transportation experience required.

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in emergency medical and medical transportation services management required.

• Experience with vision and mission development, budget preparation, resource utilization, cost/benefit analysis, quality improvement methods, clinical provision, a thorough knowledge of multi-tiered EMS systems, and all levels of medical transportation services required.

• Minimum of seven (7) years’ leadership experience required.

• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

• Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

• Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.
