Growing Together Family Support Specialist in Billings, Montana
•Help maintain the parent-child bond by providing visitation for children and their parents.•Coordinate parenting time visitation between parents, guardians, family, and/or foster parents and transport children to and from visits.•Assist with visit planning and providing coaching techniques and debriefings, helping to improve parenting skills and interactions.•Facilitate meaningful and nurturing visitation, helping parents meet their children's physical, emotional, and developmental needs.•Ensure the safety of children and model appropriate interactions between parents and children.•Work collaboratively with Colleagues, Foster & Kinship Placements, and Social Workers at Child & Family Services, as well as other community providers.•Assist parents with concrete needs and link to resources that can assist with reunification goals.•Complete and maintain any documentation consistent with our program and agency standards.•Completes all required case file documentation in a timely and routine fashion.•Monitoring any scheduled Safe Transfers of children.•Maintain an acceptable caseload approved by the Director and be flexible to assist with co-workers' cases when needed.•Adheres to agency-client confidentiality and State & Federally mandated reporting policies.•Conducts intakes and orientations with custodial and non-custodial parents participating in our programs.Ongoing Job Expectations:•Strong engaging, communication, and collaboration skills.•Professionalism, strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence in care.•Complete objective and factual documentation of all client visits, correspondence, and those involved in the agency's caseload.•Must demonstrate initiative, creativity, reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work well independently and as a team.•Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment.•Must analyze work, set goals, develop plans, and utilize time effectively and efficiently.•Must maintain a valid Montana Driver's License and an acceptable/insurable driving record.•When transporting clients, employees must maintain automobile insurance to the agency's minimum standards and update the agency of any changes in insurance providers.•Must maintain a strong knowledge of child development and parenting skills.•Must successfully maintain a clean Criminal Background & Motor Vehicle Record that meets the standards of our agency and the State of Montana DPHHS/Child & Family Services to work with families and children. These standards will be checked by both the State of Montana and our agency.
