Flatwork Ironer Operator



Shift: Day

Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)

Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours (Non-Exempt)

Flatwork Ironer Operator- Feeding linens into ironer catch linens from folder, stack, and place linens on shelves in an orderly manner so the linens can be counted and loaded easily.

This position will:

• To alert General Manager, Production Manager/Floor Supervisor and or Maintenance Person of any potential safety hazards with equipment being operated or in immediate work area.

• Feeding linen items through ironer, as required for deliveries.

• Working with the supervisors and Cart loaders to make sure the right items are being processed through the ironer.

• Putting linens on shelves, as the linen is processed.

• Help in other production areas, as necessary.

• Expect to be cross-trained on other positions on the floor.

• Maintain quality standards by removing substandard quality linen as the linen is being processed.

• To be able to shut the ironer down for short terms and for the end of the shift.

• Send the waxing cloths through the ironer at appropriate times.

• To be able to rotate to the 3 positions on the ironer.

• Maintain production speed of standards set to meet the needs of the facility

• Immediate area maintained:

  1. Ironer brushed off, and waxed for startup then the wax cloth ran through before each break and lunch.

  2. Other duties as required



• Ability to read and write, and do addition and subtraction as required.

• Ability to follow and give oral instructions as required.

• Will work on the production floor prior to the training of the ironer to become familiar with the types of linens and where they are stored on the shelves.

• One week on the job training to familiarize with routine.
