St. John's United Groundskeeper in Billings, Montana

  • Around 10 per week

  • Make your own schedule with the HOA members

  • On call during the winter for snow removal

    Summary

    Performs routine grounds maintenance that may include, but is not limited to: watering, raking, mowing, weeding, planting, snow removal, etc. Will perform monthly preventative maintenance for At Home members. Must be able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

    Internal Relationships: Interactive Groundskeeper has daily contact with members, staff members, volunteers and member’s family in completing their assigned job functions.

    External Relationships: Has contact with other community businesses and agencies to coordinate relationships between Members and possible services.

    Essential Functions:

    Grounds

    During all of these essential grounds functions Interactive Groundskeeper must ensure proper care is used when handling maintenance of equipment and supplies and must promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

  • Irrigates, mows, rakes and trims lawns.

  • Picks up and disposes of litter.

  • Trims edges around walks, flower beds, and walls using clippers and edging tools.

  • Performs weeding.

  • Lays sod.

  • Assists with small construction tasks such as excavating and handling and/or transportation of equipment and materials.

  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    Event Set Up and Planning

  • Set up tents, chairs, tables, etc. as needed.

  • Direct traffic and general duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Plan events for the Members of the Home Owners Association to attend.

    Home Maintenance

    At Home Service Coordinator will arrange for or provide monthly preventive maintenance and repairs requested by members.

  • Ensures that maintenance is performed in a timely and cost effective manner.

  • Ensures that the member has the appropriate supplies and equipment as needed.

  • Assigns or is responsible for decorating the member’s residences for all holidays, and events within member’s individual service contract.

    Communication:

  • Develop flyers, posters and other materials as needed.

  • Create a monthly newsletter that will go out to all the Members in the HOA.

    Safety

  • Obeys safety rules of St. John’s United.

  • Identifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazards.

  • Attends mandatory safety in-services.

    Knowledge, Skills/Abilities, Work Experience:

    Education: Must have at minimum a high school diploma or GED.

    Work Experience: At least one year experience in lawn care.

    Certifications: Montana Driver’s License with clean record.

    Desired Attributes: Knowledge and skills acquired through general life experience

  • Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety precautions.

  • Possess excellent verbal, writing, and organization skills.

  • Communication through the use of technology helpful.

  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance and turf equipment operations.

  • Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks.

  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.

  • Ability to perform grounds maintenance such as laying sod.

  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.

  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.

  • Requires the ability to work in extreme heat and cold conditions.
