Responsible for the supervision of overall loan quality of the Home Loan Division loan originations & servicing to include the day-to-day operation of the Quality Control Department, its policies, procedures, and staff. Assists in implementation and maintenance of the Quality Control Plan and procedures within the plan as needed to ensure compliance with the Bank's philosophy regarding quality control as outlined in the Quality Control Plan.Propose policy changes and recommendations for the Home Loan Policy which provides criteria for loans originated for sale or portfolio. Provide recommendations for educational or training needs for all branches where problems are uncovered in quality control reviews. Play an active role in working with Compliance partners to ensure the department is meeting regulatory requirements for all governing bodies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.- Provides leadership for the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of home loans consistent with established standards.- Helps develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of home loans.- Assists in the development of standard reports on data integrity and Quality Control findings from pre-funding, post-closing audits and investor suspension items.- Provides leadership regarding inspections and auditing activities to ensure continuous control over home loan operations and production.- Helps plan, promote, and organize training activities related to product quality and reliability.- Assists with the investigation of all customer complaints and implements procedures for improvement as needed.- Meets with the Home Loans Quality Control Manager, Home Loans Production Staff & Compliance Team regularly to confirm adherence to regulatory requirements and avoid duplication of efforts in identifying or resolving failure points identified.- Must be able to represent First Interstate Bank in meeting with investors, vendors & regulatory agencies in a professional and responsible manner.- Will need to work with Home Loans Operations Manager to ensure appropriate technology is in place to accomplish the goals of the organization.- Works with Operations System Admin to implement new tools or applications in the department.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the mortgage servicing function, quality control for servicing, and compliance regulations as they relate to real estate lending.OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIESAbility to meet deadlines. Must be able to meet all requirements of the servicing and origination quality control plans accurately and timely. Ability to communicate with various levels of management, employees, and coworkers in a friendly and courteous manner. Professional appearance and adherence to FIB dress code is required.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend laws and regulations related to servicing quality control requirements and real estate lending. Ability to draft reports and memos concerning findings of quality control and compliance work. Ability to effectively present findings to various levels of management and employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITYAbility to understand and apply legal and regulatory requirements of servicing quality control and compliance and make judgments concerning adherence to such laws and regulations.
