Position Summary:Home Support Services Specialists (HSS-Specialist) provide support through trauma-informed care. Providing intensive skill-building to youth and families with the goal of maintaining the youth in the home setting through a minimum of weekly home visits and ongoing communication. In addition, they serve as a positive role model and mentor to the youth. An HSS-Specialist will have a heart and passion for working with youth who often come from hard places and have experienced complex trauma. The applicant must be mission and values-driven and possess a strong work ethic, reliability, and desire to be a positive role model in our youth and families lives.

Position Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 6 (six) years of professional experience in a similar role may be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience with a bachelor's degree or 6 years without a degree

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Pass criminal background and child abuse registry check as required by the state of Montana

  • Have the ability to relate and build rapport with youth and family therapeutically while serving as a positive role model and helping them build the skills necessary to keep their family together.

  • Have the ability to work in cooperation and collaboration with the treatment team, including the family therapist.

  • Have the ability to maintain professional therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality with youth and families

  • Have the ability to display regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work.

Full-Time/Part-TimeFull-Time

Hiring Range Salary$15.53 - $17.39 per hour DOE

About the OrganizationYellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch was founded in 1956 and welcomed the first boy to the ranch in 1957. Today Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.

Our Residential Treatment is located on a 410 acre, working farm and ranch located in Billings, MT. We offer a continuum of mental health services that include case management, youth mentoring, home/school-based programs and foster care in addition to residential treatment. We specialize in treating troubled youth who struggle with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We also have four Community Based Services locations in Livingston, Lewistown, Dillon, and Billings. With all of our locations we impact about 650 kids each day. And throughout our history, YBGR has impacted close to 10,000 youth and their families.
