SCL Health Housekeeping Environmental Services Supervisor in Billings, Montana

Job Description:Directs staff in maintaining the standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance as established by the hospital in accordance with hospital and Joint Commission standards. Responsible to keep management informed on the immediate condition of all areas. Responsible to coordinate and motivate employees to ensure that assignments and designated cleaning tasks are completed in a proper and timely manner. Provides new employee orientation and supports Coordinators and Leads with training needs. The incumbent acts in the place of management as needed.Scope As a Supervisor of EVS / Housekeeping, you need to know how to: Supervise the daily operations in the assigned area. Collaborate with department leadership team to evaluate service needs and volumes and adjust staffing levels accordingly. Assign daily work schedules. Act as a resource in the daily operations and activities of the department. Perform procedures as required. Develop, implement and teach new and evolving technologies. Communicate policies and practices to team. Direct and coordinate training of new employees. Support the department leadership team in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service. Promote effective working relationships and work effectively as part of a department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that departments ability to meet its goals and objective. Ensure coordination of care with other departments to promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. Assist with Human Resource management functions including: interviewing, selection, orientation, education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure development. Assist in updating and maintaining personnel files. Maintain and monitor Kronos records for employees. Present and document staff meetings as required. Oversee supply and equipment inventory to maintain optimal supply levels and ensure equipment repairs and preventative maintenance occur in a timely manner. Collaborate with the department leadership team and physician leader to identify and drive quality and performance improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Assist in development of capital planning and operating budgets. Minimum Qualifications - High School Diploma or equivalent, required- Bio Hazardous Waste certification, required within six (6) months of hire- Association for Healthcare Environment (AHE), Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST), and UV certifications may be required at some care sites- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in environmental services / housekeeping, required Physical Requirements:Carrying, Climbing, Crawling, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling, Standing, WalkingAnticipated job posting close date:*Location:St Vincent HospitalWork City:BillingsWork State:MontanaScheduled Weekly Hours:*40The hourly range for this position is listed below.
