This includes but is not limited to Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration, soldering, welding, troubleshooting, testing, purchasing, installing, and fixing. Maintenance of Hot Water Boiler Systems and Steam Boiler Systems. Welding and Fabrication. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: •Perform general plumbing services including new construction, remodels, maintenance of HVAC systems •Operate and maintain Hot Water Boilers and Steam Boilers •Estimate HVAC work and projects •Complete Welding and Fabrication Duties •Perform scheduled inspections •Perform record-keeping activities to show the details of the maintenance that was completed•Ensure preventative maintenance is done on schedule by maintaining detailed records •Work safely and encourage safe working behaviors from others so that a safe work culture is developed and maintained.•Participate in and complete all safety training on time •Report incidents or injuries immediately •Participate in required and optional safety training and drills QUALITIES: •Punctuality - is consistently at work and on time •Excellent oral communication skills; communicates positively with all stakeholders •Excellent written communication skills; able to read and interpret written information•Excellent customer service skills - manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; meets commitments PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires tenuous physical labor; some heavy lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in some inclement weather. Position will require working from ladders, scaffolding and heights. Job hazards will be working with power equipment. Education Required: •Journeyman level knowledge and abilities of HVAC systems. •Boiler Operator’s License •Knowledge and skills in the maintenance of boilers Experience Required: •Weld using Arc, MIG, TIG, Brazing, and Soldering. •Able to cut with torch, CAC and hand tools •Must be able to read blueprints •Ability to perform computer operations •Ability to write descriptions and perform as - built prints Montana State University Billings is committed to providing a working and learning environment free from discrimination.
