NORTHWEST PUMP & EQUIPMENT CO INDUSTRIAL COMPRESSOR MECHANIC in BILLINGS, Montana
Northwest Pump is seeking a skilled Compressor Service Technician to join our team in Billings, MT. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing various types of compressors. The Compressor Service Technician will be proficient in diagnosing issues, performing necessary repairs, and ensuring that compressors operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires excellent technical and mechanical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. What does this job do? - Perform repairs with a high degree of customer satisfaction, quality, technical expertise, and timeliness - Install new compressors according to specifications and safety standards - Test and calibrate compressors to ensure optimal performance and efficiency - Work to increase your knowledge / expertise of a large range of industrial compressors, and related products - Educate customers on Northwest Pump's products including replacement parts for peripheral equipment, etc. - Maintain knowledge of manuals associated with all equipment - Learn to read prints and wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment - Partner closely with our other service technicians and local sales representatives - Adhere to safety protocols and regulations - Stay up to date on new regulations and safety standards - Travel to customer sites with possibility of overnight travel to complete assignments as required - Overtime may be necessary What are we looking for? - A minimum of four years Compressor Mechanic experience and/ or training; or closely related training and experience - Someone with a strong work ethic, and high degree of dependability and reliability are essential - Ability to work autonomously, and as a team; self-motivated - Capacity to learn about industrial equipment / electrical components; be able to apply this new knowledge - Ability to provide a high level of customer service; A people person. - Someone with at least basic computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds - While performing the duties of this job you may need to stoop, kneel, bend, or crawl - Must be able to pass a pre-employment (and random) drug screen, background check, driving record check, and reference checks - Must possess and maintain a safe driving record with valid driver's license Why choose NW Pump? - We are an employee-owned company since 2006 - You'll get to work with knowledgeable and supportive team members - You'll get to contribute to an "ownership culture" where employees have the ability to impact our success While we are the largest distributor of our kind in the Western United States, each of our locations have their own local feel.
