SUMMARY

The Inside Sales Mortgage Loan Officer will be responsible for originating permanent residential mortgage loans, via the bank's Digital Platform as well as FIB branch leads while also participating in related business development activities. Incumbents have a thorough knowledge of FHA, VA, RD, state Bond Programs as well as conventional real estate regulations and ability to handle complex loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.

  • Handle all inquiries/leads from FIB Digital Platform (phone, email, website) as well as direct Branch Referrals and self-sourced opportunities.
  • Work with clients in a consultative selling approach learning the applicants housing goals, needs and time frame and recommending to customer their available loan options.
  • Convert leads to full application and submit complete loan application and proper documentation to processing team.
  • Set and maintain realistic expectations with all affected parties.
  • Follow Ability to Repay guidelines as set by FIB and the investor.
  • Obtain and analyze credit reports with an understanding of the data and approval implications.
  • Lock the interest rate when the customer requests or approves.
  • Manage lead pipeline with new inquiries to ensure department KPI requirements for consistent contact with all parties involved in transaction.
  • Understand and navigate within the Loan Origination System
  • Full understanding of compliance and meet all requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College or University and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Residential mortgage lending preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

This position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.

Valid driver's license is required.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

As a condition of employment, any successful job applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment screening against the Limited Denial of Participation (LDP), GSA Excluded Party List System (EPLS) and Freddie Mac Exclusionary List.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and stoop, kneels, crouch or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
