The IT Senior Network Manager is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of First Interstate Bank's enterprise network. This individual will have a diversified background of technical experience, demonstrated project management acumen and excellent vendor management skills, be an adept leader of people, plus have a superior, service-oriented approach to IT operations. As a member of the IT leadership team, the role contributes to the development and execution of strategy and ensures its alignment with the organization's technology and business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Provides oversight and direction for the operations and support of the network services team fostering a highly effective team environment.- Provides leadership and direction to the Telecommunications Manager for day-to-day operations.- Provides input to the Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations as well as to peers responsible for other aspects of I&O.- Fosters a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.- Supports the development and execution of the I & T strategy, partnering closely with Enterprise Innovation, Solution, and Architecture.- Maintains a business mindset when coordinating changes to ensure business impact is limited. Builds and maintains relationships with other IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs.- Promotes teamwork, collaboration, and transparency.- Ensures cost-effective decisions are made while maintaining the ability to be agile with changing business priorities.- Provides direct input to the IT Operations annual operating and capital expenditure budget for I&O and manages expenses to stay within plan.- Translates strategic goals and priorities into technical strategies and objectives for his/her department.- Maintains currency on new technologies and provides input on what emerging IT operations technologies and methods should be introduced, integrated and assimilated within IT.- Supports the IT organization's sourcing strategy and provides oversight for vendor and partner relationship management.- Provides leadership, coaching and direction to direct reports and subordinates.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience.- 10+ years of experience in IT.- Strong understanding of network architecture, routing, switching, and security.- Up-to-date knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Voice.- Five years of progressive leadership responsibilities.- Demonstrated experience in establishing standard processes and managing performance to achieve key metrics.- Experience in effectively managing cross-functional teams, influencing key stakeholders, across the organization and within complex contexts.- Experience or demonstrated capability in leading IT operations teams in complex and dynamic environments requiring 24/7 support.- Preferred experience with Palo Alto Networks.- Attainment of relevant certifications and professional networking via involvement in industry groups.OTHER SKILLS & ABILIITIES- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to communicate a vision that inspires and motivates staff and aligns to the IT and business strategy.- Ability to instill confidence in the CIO and Director IT Infrastructure and Operations that IT operations contributes to the business value of IT.- Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role.- Excellent service management planning and execution skills.- Strong IT operations acumen, including cross-domain knowledge and preferably earlier career experience in an individual contributor role in IT operations.- Experience in budget planning and financial management.- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a plan that ensures that the right people are in the right roles at the right time, and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied.- Strong vendor management and partner relation skills to identify and leverage resources internal and external to the enterprise to enhance capabilities that support business objectives.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to senior leaders, and business concepts to the I&O workforce.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
