Position Summary The Lead Controls Technician and Programmer position will support LONG Building Automation/Temperature Controls technicians and LONG customers by programming and troubleshooting temperature control systems based on project specifications. Using expertise in the HVAC industry and leadership skills, you will perform installation, warranty, emergency, and maintenance service on installed systems while providing general guidance and oversight of fellow technicians in general operations. You will also as act as a liaison with operations managers and project managers to ensure successful project completions. Responsibilities - Provides guidance, oversight and assistance to control technicians for programming project databases, for all supported systems, to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers recommendations in accordance with LONG standards and contract documents- Provides guidance, oversight, and assistance to control technicians so they understand how to perform calibration and check-out of control systems, and ensure that specified sequence of operation and commissioning obligations are met- Provides guidance, oversight, and assistance to control technicians so they understand how to prepare and deliver the graphical user interfaces when required for projects in accordance with LONG standards and contract documents. Coordinate with inter-office or 3rd party graphics provider as required- Communicates regularly and efficiently with operations manager, project managers, installation supervisors and control technicians via voice mail, cell phone and email regarding scheduling, job concerns, technical matters and other issues- Provides technical expertise and pre-planning of technical work on challenging or unusual projects by pre-screening the anticipated scope of work and communicating to the project managers, field supervisor any special requirements or advance planning that may be required- Verifies that control technicians provide signed completed checkout documentation (i.e. checkout sheets) to the project manager, on a daily/weekly basis, for inclusion into the project manual- Verifies that control technicians provide information to update drawings and keep records of equipment for as-built documentation (turns in all redlined drafting to application engineers)- Advises operations manager and project managers regarding system deficiencies and/or customer complaints and advises appropriate building intelligence personnel. Advises project managers on job status and completion of assigned work- Provides technical analysis and recommendations to owners and the project team regarding warranty issues or challenging situations with a customer focused attitude- Advises operations manager sales account manager of additional sales potential (both service and contract related)- Instructs owner's personnel and control technicians on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems and energy conservation routines- Abides by all LONG and OSHA safety regulations at all times- Drives defensively and obeys all traffic laws including LONG safe driver policy (avoids all confrontational driving situations)- Provides technical expertise and helps standardized procedures to maximize control technician efficiency- Informs customer of LONG service agreement availability while performing start-up, commissioning, and owner training tasks- Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications - 2 years tech school and 3 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience or 5 years temperature control system start-up, checkout, and service experience- Valid Montana driver’s licenseRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities - Extensive knowledge of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarm and smoke removal systems, engineering, installation, and construction procedures- Programming skill with Invensys, Tridium, and other equivalent systems- Possess good leadership, communication (written and verbal), and computer skills- Possess good organizational and planning skillsWorking Conditions Environment: - Alcohol and Drug-free- Indoors and outdoors- Exposure to seasonal heat and coldPhysical Requirements - Ability to lift 75 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor- Ability to climb ladders and function at required heightsHazards - Inclement weather- High, precarious places Apply Here PI208404245
