The main purpose and function of the Logistics & Customer Service Representative position is to plan, direct, and coordinate customer orders/requests of bentonite and related products.
Specific responsibilities may include:
Receive customer orders and requests; coordinate the life cycle of these orders and requests including communicating with the customer throughout this process fostering a positive customer experience.
Interact regularly with management, accounting personnel, sales staff, and production department heads, and contact with other employees as required for information gathering and analysis to complete customer requested orders.
Mitigate customer problems as they occur to ensure customer satisfaction.
Advise sales representatives on truck and product availability.
Work with outside vendors/brokers to coordinate customer shipments.
Direct customer inquiries to sales.
Support and participate in the organization’s Continual Improvement Program and Quality Management System.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and training:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Two (2) to (4) years of experience with Truck, Rail, and warehousing preferred.
Two (2) to (4) years of experience in customer service and order entry preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
Proficient with distribution and ERP systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and produce error-free work.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Problem solving skills: ability to identify source of problem; execute solution and document the issue; escalate to management.
Strong analytical skills.
Ability to work independently.
