Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)

Hours per Pay Period: 0.90 = 72 hours every two weeks (Non-Exempt)

Starting Wage DOE: $21.70 - 27.12

Under general supervision of the, Manager, Clinical Coordinator, Director and/or as delegated by the Registered Nurse, assists in the delivery of patient/resident care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation, and theoretical/clinical skills in the promotion/maintenance of health. Incorporates evidence-based nursing practices consistent with national standards and which support quality outcomes. Works collaboratively with the RN to meet the physical, psychosocial, educational, spiritual needs of the patient and family, and contributes to the plan of care while maintaining professionalism.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Participates in the development of the strategy of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team by providing data; identifying priorities; setting realistic and measurable goals; identifying measures to maintain comfort, support human functions and response and maintain an environment conducive to well-being; and provide health teaching.

• Provides nursing care by performing basic to semi-complex treatments as delegated by the RN.

• Ensures complete, accurate and timely entry into patient medical record as indicated by patient condition and documentation guidelines, consistent with departmental policies and procedures.

• Observes patients for physical and emotional reactions to medications and treatments, reporting any irregularities to appropriate medical and/or other nursing personnel.

• Adheres to Billings Clinic safety standards, policies and practices.

• Anticipates and identifies problems and safety issues, then initiates appropriate action.

• Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance Takes responsibility for own professional growth and development needs; meets all system and departmental educational requirements.

• Consideration is given to the appropriateness of care based on the population specific needs of the patient including age appropriate and cultural needs.

• Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve the quality of patient care. Incorporates the Magnet Model in transforming the work environment and quality of nursing care.

• Demonstrates collaborative, supportive and caring behaviors in communication with patients/ families, visitors, and the interdisciplinary team Performs all other tasks as assigned or as needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Graduate of an approved program for licensed practical nurses, which must include an IV Therapy course of study

Licenses

• Current state license as a practical nurse required

• CPR/ACLS/PALS

• BLS/Healthcare Provider
