It has a critical role in financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and performance analysis to support our manufacturing objectives and drive profitability. This position will also provide support and guidance in the areas of HR other office related functions of the Billings Campus. This position will be the cost accounting system expert which is currently D365 and will be located in Billings, MT.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Planning & Analysis: Develop and maintain financial models to support production planning and forecasting. Analyze operational performance and identify areas for improvement.Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and report on annual budgets and forecasts. Collaborate with plant management to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines and financial targets.Cost Control: Implement and manage cost control measures. Conduct variance analysis to understand deviations from budget and suggest corrective actions.Cost Accounting: Maintain cost accounting systems and processes. D365 System expert which includes duties such as analyzing manufacturing orders, maintaining bill of materials, item maintenance, and analyzing fixed and variable direct and indirect costs.Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory valuation and reporting. Work with production teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize waste.Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards. Assist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to align financial goals with operational strategies.Human Resources Duties: Assist the Billings Campus in general HR functions working closely with the corporate HR team.Office Management Duties: Supervise and direct daily activities of the office personnel.JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAdaptability - Ability to adapt to change in the workplace.Business Acumen - Ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues.Communication - Ability to effectively, clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing.Confidentiality - Maintain highest level of confidentiality at all times.Decision Making - Display willingness to make critical decisions while following company practices.Delegation - Ability to delegate work, give authority to work independently, set expectations and monitor delegated activities.Enthusiasm - Ability to bring energy to the day to day as well as long-term tasks and plans.Judgment - Display willingness to make timely decisions and exhibit sound and accurate judgment.Leadership - Ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well; accept feedback.Planning & Organizing - Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.Reliability - Demonstrate regular attendance and availability to staff and management.Quality Management - Demonstrate commitment to improve and promote quality in all operating areas.Safety & Security - Promote and personally observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.Honesty, Integrity, Trust & Respect - Must be seen as truthful and credible and exhibit respectful behavior in all actions representing the company.RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a must.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Microsoft Office proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWork in an office environment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.Work involves walking, talking and hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when using computer terminal.PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)NoneWORK ENVIRONMENTThe noise level in the work environment can be moderately noisy due to manufacturing and/or warehousing equipment in operation.Must be willing to travel to other company locations approximately 5-10% and attend out-of-town training and/or seminars.Working hours vary between 6 am and 6 pm depending upon schedules and the season. Typical work week of Monday through Friday and approximately 40 to 45 hours per week.
