What will you do as a Marketing Specialist?

As part of the Marketing team, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for leading, under the direction of the Marketing Manager, the daily operations of the local marketing department which serves as a print shop and marketing resource for several Sales Centers of Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country. This position is responsible for the design and production of custom point of sale, inventory and maintenance of marketing materials, and guiding the Sales and Marketing teams to implement strategic programs while supporting the Company’s Culture Formula.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow marketing communications guidelines as established by The Coca-Cola Company to ensure all trademark and branding guidelines are followed.

  • Maintain close communication with Sales and Marketing team members across multiple Sales Centers; keeping the local Sales Center Manager apprised of schedule, activities, etc.

  • Prepare marketing materials for intercompany, customer and community projects.

  • With input from the Marketing Manager, lead the Sales and Marketing teams in implementing national and local marketing initiatives to ultimately increase market share, build brand presence and elevate consumer/brand engagement.

  • Oversee the daily functions of the local Marketing print shop.

  • Review all requests, prepare production plans, schedule and expedite orders.

  • Follow guidelines to make purchases based on “best solution” for each set of circumstances. e.g. outsourced print materials, non-refrigerated equipment, promotional merchandise, etc.

  • Determine the best methodology for each production process. Adjust and modify procedures based on new technologies, changes in customer demands and resources available.

  • Make decisions regarding Print Shop policy and procedure issues as necessary.

  • Design, produce, and distribute advertising materials for CCBCHC.

  • Communicate directly with Sales team members and customers regarding specifications, schedules, and technicalities of incoming requests.

  • Layout, production, finishing and packaging of custom advertising materials.

  • Operate equipment and perform production tasks as needed to meet customer requirements.

  • Coordinate and communicate shipment and delivery of finished materials.

  • Prepare and maintain files and information for review and presentation.

  • Lead receipt, shipment and storage of marketing materials.

  • Inventory all materials and supplies inside of marketing storage areas; maintain inventories at adequate levels.

  • Receive, inventory, redistribute and ship time sensitive marketing materials for all national and local activations.

  • Assist with production of promotional displays and dealer loaders.

  • Lead preparation and execution for customer, corporate and community events, tradeshows and product samplings across Company territories.

  • Provide instruction and lead execution of various events and product samplings.

  • Manage sampling tools and preparations for offsite sampling activities.

  • Maintain records, including calendars, for all event, media and sampling activation, including recaps of activities, costs, etc.

  • Responsible for the physical condition of all marketing storage areas.

  • Cleanliness & organization of marketing storage areas.

  • Assure all policies, procedures and maintenance schedules are followed. Provide for safe working environment.

  • Prepare and analyze data and reports to identify areas for continuous improvement.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, graphic design, or marketing or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in consumer goods or beverages preferred.

  • Extremely knowledgeable in the following software packages: Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator.

  • On the job training will include internal education of business channels, parent companies, products, and supplier resources & contacts as well as instruction around internal processes and procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50-lbs, handle the loading & unloading of marketing and POS materials, as well as distribution of product for marketing functions.

  • Must be willing to work all hours as needed to complete the job, including as necessary weekends and evenings.

  • Work involves walking, talking and hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus when using computer terminal.

  • Occasional travel required for training or event activation.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

  • None

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work in an office environment; sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time; may utilize a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time.

  • The noise level in the work environment can be moderately noisy due to manufacturing equipment in operation.

  • May be required to travel to regional locations and attend out-of-town training and/or seminars.
