Ear, Nose and Throat Associates is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the office of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of Medical Assistants vary from rooming patients, cleaning rooms and stocking patient rooms. It includes setting up and assisting with biopsies. The Medical Assistant will also do hearing tests and set up patients for CT scans. Other duties will include calibrating CT scanner, scheduling hearing tests, performing CT scans and other procedures.Administrative and Clinical Duties:- Answer patient's post-op questions.- Update and file patients' medical records.- Fill out insurance forms.- Take medical histories and record vital signs.- Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare patients for examination.- Assist the physician during the examination and with sinus surgeries (in-office).- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests.- Sterilize medical instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.- Arrange examining-room instruments and equipment.- Purchase and maintain supplies and equipment.- Keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean.Qualifications:- Medical Assistance Program Certification. (Certification may be in progress.)- High school diploma or the equivalent.- Must be neat and well-groomed and have a courteous, pleasant manner.- Must be able to put patients at ease and explain physicians' instructions.- Minimum of one years' related experience.- Minimum of one years' customer service experience.
