Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Medication Assistant in Billings, Montana
Position Summary:Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse the Medication Aide will assist with self administration of routine medications to residents. The Medication Aid will also monitor residents for change in condition of the resident’s physical or mental condition and report to the nurse. The Medication Aide will be required to take vital signs and weights of the residents. Other duties as assigned within the scope of Medication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide routine medications to youth as prescribed in accordance with applicable YBGR policies and procedures, laws, statues, license and /or certification.
Monitor youth’s physical or mental condition and report to the nurse.
Take vital signs, weights, heights on youth.
Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization both individually and as a team member.
Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice of a medication aide and employee of YBGR.

High School Diploma or GED required
Have the ability to complete and pass the YBGR Medication Aide Course within 30 days of hire date.
Previous Professional Experience:
Preferred professional experience as Certified Nurses Aid
Nursing school sophomore or higher
Preferred professional experience in medical
License and/or Certification:
License to operate passenger vehicle – Required
Medication Aide I – Desirable
Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance:Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana
Physical/Environmental Demands & Requirements:
Work environment: This position will generally work indoors in climate controlled environment but occasionally will work in outdoor environment where they may not be protected from weather conditions.
Will occasionally be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time while performing administrative duties.
Will frequently operate computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
Consistently needs to move about inside building, outside to include uneven terrain, changes in elevation, and frequently change body position from and to standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone.
Rarely maybe be required to assist in the physical restraint of a youth (50-300lbs) who is a safety risk to themselves or others.
The person in this position will constantly communicate with clients, their treatment team, and others. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals.
Must be able to perceive, recognize, and observe clients behavior to include non-verbal cues expressed by the client.
Conditions can be high stress during de-escalation, restraint of physically out of control youth and medical emergency.
Hiring Range Salary$13.60 - $15.24 per hour depending on experience and education.

Today Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.
Our Residential Treatment is located on a 410 acre, working farm and ranch located in Billings, MT. We offer a continuum of mental health services that include case management, youth mentoring, home/school-based programs and foster care in addition to residential treatment. We specialize in treating troubled youth who struggle with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We also have four Community Based Services locations in Livingston, Lewistown, Dillon, and Billings. With all of our locations we impact about 650 kids each day.
