Intermountain Health Patient Access Associate PRN in Billings, Montana

Job Description:

In this position, the Patient Account Representative is responsible for preregistration of patients in

Epic, review of insurance cards for eligibility, is responsible for patient statement inquiries, and obtains authorizations for Medicaid Passport services.

Patient Account Representative

  • Ensures that patients with VA have current benefit coverage.

  • Checks patient demographics to ensure that Epic has correct information

  • Reviews patient forms for completion

  • Reviews statements with patients who have questions regarding charges

  • Enters preauthorization numbers into Epic

  • Notifies business office when patients enter Hospice

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent

  2. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, pathology, pharmacology and various medical specialties as required

  3. Excellent listening and communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style.

  4. Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and various dictation styles

  5. Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically within a multi-functional team

  6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  7. Experience in understanding and usage of computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to learn applications relevant to the position

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$17.74 - $22.76
