Billings Clinic Per Diem Medical Education Specialist (Billings) in Billings, Montana
This role will focus specifically on our continuing medical education programs through the Office of Medical Education (OME). The Medical Education Specialist will support the OME team and course/conference chairs in developing educational events such as seminar series and conferences. They will also support the development and maintenance of educational files and databases to address accreditation requirements. Most of the work will be done 8am-5pm M-F. However, occasional evening and weekend work related to supporting educational events will occur. The Medical Education Specialist will assist the Office of Medical Education (OME) team in accomplishing the smooth functioning of programs within the OME. This position requires experience in medical education and knowledge of the Billings Clinic. He/She is responsible to participate in various initiatives in the Office of Medical Education (OME) and is accountable to the Director of Office of Medical Education. The Medical Education Specialist is required to be knowledgeable of medical education and/or scholarly activity at Billings Clinic. Responsibilities include providing administrative support including record and database management as it relates to medical education at Billings Clinic. Essential Job Functions • Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance. • Accountable for knowledge of medical education principles. Participate in creation of educational events including undergraduate, graduate and CME. Coordinates meetings and prepares minutes for applicable committees Participates in the tracking of scholarly efforts of Billings Clinic faculty, residents and students • Accountable for the development and maintenance of primary records and databases of educational files at Billings Clinic. • Assists the Undergraduate Medical Education Coordinator in screening and recruiting medical students for visiting rotations. • Work with Human Resources to develop tools and resources to support medical education at Billings Clinic. Maintains current knowledge of continuing medical education activities, initiatives and resources. • Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance. • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Minimum Qualifications Education • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, education or related field Experience • 1-2 years experience in education, healthcare, medical education and/or program development/coordination a plus Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
