BILLINGS SCHOOL DISTRICT 2 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST in BILLINGS, Montana

The Professional Development Specialist manages the School District 2 professional development (PD) web page and database, directs approvals and evaluations of PD programs as specified by the PDAAC addendum in the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and ensures alignment with district goals, educational standards, and educator needs. This role involves educating employees on district procedures, evaluating PD proposals, and managing the approval process through the PDAAC committee, thereby supporting the improvement of student learning outcomes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good judgment in various situations, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and excel in administrative and organizational tasks while balancing multiple priorities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (may include but are not limited to the following): - Maintain a calendar of meetings and events with the Professional Development Academy Advisory Committee. - Attend all Professional Development Academy Advisory Committee meetings. - Prepare Word, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations, agendas, reports, special projects, and other documents in support of organizational objectives. - Record all PD courses approved by the PDAAC. - Post notifications of meetings and record all meeting minutes related to course and/or credit approval or denial. - Assist with the preparation of an annual financial report for the PDAAC, detailing proceeds and expenses from PD courses. - Gather and organize evaluation forms for all PD courses. - Maintain a database for individual courses and credit approval. - Provide support for Employee Personnel Action Requests (EPARs). - Assist with Perkins Grant phone calls to former students. - Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: - Experience and knowledge of Collective Bargaining Units. - Commitment to excellence and the ability to perform duties at the highest level consistently. - Excellent written communication skills, including experience drafting letters, reports, and formal documents. - Team-oriented with experience in collaborative environments. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines with attention to detail. - Ability to process information, follow instructions, and complete tasks with minimal supervision. - Strong attention to detail, including accurate capture and organization of meeting notes and data. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, including creating and managing spreadsheets with basic formulas and data organization. - Expertise in Google Docs, including formatting, editing, and collaborating on documents efficiently. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or equivalent. - General office experience. - Special knowledge, skills, and abilities in computers and programs, office equipment, office practices and procedures, bookkeeping, record-keeping, interpersonal communication, organization, time management, and multitasking. Wage: Contract Support; $19.97 per hour. Schedule: 12-month; 8 hours a day; Monday - Friday. Location: Lincoln Center. Equal Opportunity Employer.
