CITY OF BILLINGS PRPL PARKS PLANNER in BILLINGS, Montana
Parks, Recreation, and Public Lands (PRPL) is recruiting for a Parks Planner to manage, supervise, and coordinate all phases of assigned Parks and Recreation Department park planning policy studies, needs assessments and Capital Improvement Projects including public engagement process, planning, design, construction, supervision of consultants and contractors, and perform related duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor\'s degree in Landscape Architecture, or a closely related field. - Five (5) or more years of experience in design and project management, development and construction of park and recreation facilities, including construction of large and complex projects. - Must be licensed as a Landscape Architect by the Montana State Board of Architects and Landscape Architects or must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills: - Master\'s degree in Landscape Architecture, Planning or Architecture, or a closely related field. - Experience with resource conservation practices (water and energy) in urban park design. - Experience in park planning and development in communities with urban/wildland interface areas. - Experience in a public agency. - Supervisory experience.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Hours of work may vary based on operational needs.
Salary: \$32.1752 - \$43.0964 per hour. Salary reflects Step 1 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring is dependent upon the applicant\'s education and experience.
