Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

St. Vincent Healthcare (http://www.svh-mt.org/)  is part of Intermountain Health, a faith-based, nonprofit healthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care. Our 286-bed level II trauma center has provided care in Montana and the surrounding area since 1898.

Our team is second to none, and we work well together. We have 14 ORs with 1 Hybrid Room.  Our cases include:

  • General surgery

  • Pediatric surgery and procedures

  • Orthopedics and joint surgery

  • Neuro and deep brain stimulation surgery

  • Open heart, cardiovascular and TAVR surgery

  • DaVinci robotics for urology, gynecology, and general surgery

Your day

As a PACU Nurse you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:

  • Adapt to quickly changing dynamic situations calmly and effectively

  • Ability to work 10 hour shifts and take call as required

  • Respond to and communicate professionally with peers and providers as you perform your work

  • Foster quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind

  • Comply with procedural and documentation guidelines using EPIC charting software

  • Oversee care delivered by transporters

  • Continually expand your knowledge

  • Help improve our facility and safety programs

  • Follow hospital, regulatory and professional guidelines, policies and procedures

  • Communicate compassionately and effectively

Your experience

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

  • ASN/ADN or BSN from an accredited program

  • Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years of hire, unless you have a minimum of 15 years of proven, continuous, acute care RN experience

  • Current RN license to practice in the state of Montana

  • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications

  • TNCC by 1/20/20

  • One year of Phase I PACU experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computer monitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$35.70 - $50.50
