Shift: Day, Weekends

Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)

Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours (Non-Exempt)

Starting Wage DOE: $17.00 - 21.25

Under the supervision of the licensed therapy staff, assists in the patients’/residents’ rehabilitation processes, to promote independence and successful completion of the established rehabilitation program as established by the licensed therapist(s). Work may be performed within one or more of the environments within Billings Clinic to include hospital, inpatient and outpatient, outpatient clinic, and/or branch or affiliate sites.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and practices the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and designated service line.

• Provides range of motion exercises, ambulation assistance, transfer practices, and other exercises as determined and outlined by the licensed therapy staff. (Patient Care, Rehab, Provides Exercise Program)

• Remains alert to patients’/residents’ response to treatment, notifying the licensed therapist of any need for assistance. (Patient Care, Patient Observation, Rehab Patient Obs)

• Assists patients/residents to perform ADL tasks, using adaptive equipment as a modality for independence, as appropriate. (Patient Care, Rehab, Equipment)

• Follows work assignments, and appropriate work schedules in completing and performing tasks. core

• Assists the patient/resident in preparing for treatment. Assists with the applications/removal of braces and bandages in accordance with proper procedure and policy. Practices sterile or aseptic techniques. (Patient Care, Procedures, Assist Patient)

• Maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment, assuring safety by using safety devices and practices to prevent injury to self, co-workers and residents. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental, and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job performance.

• Participates in activities that promote professional growth and development, including meetings, committees, QI and educational programs. Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory system and departmental requirements. core

• Understands, communicates and actively promotes adherence to Patient/Resident Rights, maintaining confidentiality of patient/resident information. core

• Performs minor maintenance on medical appliances. Performs adjustments on medical appliances in accordance with the direction of the licensed therapist, or departmental policy, as appropriate. (Environment of Care, Equipment, Minor Equipment Maintenance)

• On behalf of the licensed therapist, communicates with third party vendors to obtain specific supplies and equipment for identified patient/resident needs. (Resource Management, Inventory, Vendor Supplies)

• Maintains a facility wide rehab related equipment inventory and a current list of patients/residents using that equipment. Makes equipment rental and purchase recommendations dependent on this inventory and in conjunction with materials management’s agreements and policies. • Identifies need and sets goals for own professional growth and development; meets all mandatory requirements. Participates and attends educational meetings with respect to continuing education, co-worker in-services, and Billings Clinic educational course offerings to enhance knowledge and further professional skills.

• Performs the department’s clerical duties. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department or organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent

Experience

• Healthcare Provider CPR certification at hire

• Previous Rehabilitation Tech or Certified Nursing Assistant experience preferred

Certifications and Licenses

•Demonstration of sufficient education and/or work experience to demonstrate competencies in the areas of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medical equipment and safe patient care practices
