DOWL Risk Manager in Billings, Montana

Summary

This is a full-time position to provide support to internal customers, whose purpose is to increase productivity and efficiency, reduce risk, improve quality, and reinforce the company character.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Identify, analyze, and classify operational and insurable risks for financial impact to corporation including expected frequency, trends and severity.
Formulate and review professional service contracts and subcontracts.
Support the review and negotiate all general liability, workers compensation, and professional liability policies.
Manage and assist with selecting appropriate risk financing techniques and implements insurance programs and policies to minimize loss, such as avoidance, loss prevention and reduction, retention, transfer, grouping of exposure units, and transfer.
Manage DOWL’s business and professional licensing.
Assist with the review and negotiate office, property, and equipment leases.
Learn and use DOWL’s Risk Information Management Software (RIMS) Logic Manager in the workflow of risk, safety, and quality tasks.
Assist with various projects by conducting quality control/quality assurance.
Support DOWL’s quality programs including; Operational Excellence (OpEx), internal project quality audit management, ISO 9001 and others as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Four-year accredited college degree. Five years of increased responsibility in risk management.

Experience with public sector contract administration desirable.

Paralegal training desirable.

Demonstrated ability to work with other professionals and peers to achieve team goals, required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to obtain a risk management certification with 12-24 months.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical analysis, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient with the operational characteristics, services, and activities of a comprehensive risk management and safety program.
Experienced with insurance principles, practices, and terminology of loss reduction and loss control, as well as claims management, claims adjusting, and subrogation.
Ability to learn new industry concepts, terminology, and operational procedures.
Ability to read, interpret, and disseminate information contained in loss reports.
Proficient understanding of general contract terms and conditions including indemnification provisions.
Strong operating knowledge of modern office equipment to develop word processing, Excel spreadsheets, produce technical writing, research databases, conduct investigations, conducting research and development.
Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to exercise strong multi‐tasking and organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines without impact to operations.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range: $74,349.00 to $111,524.00
