YELLOWSTONE COUNTY ROAD AND BRIDGE FOREPERSON in BILLINGS, Montana
Yellowstone County is seeking a Road and Bridge Foreperson to supervise work performed in the construction, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of roadway construction and maintenance projects; does related work as required. This position requires employee to furnish minimal hand tools (screw driver, hammer, pliers, adjustable open end wrench, socket set for tightening cutting edges, etc.) for minor repairs and maintenance of equipment. Examples of Duties: - Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and coordinates the road construction, maintenance and repair activities of the Road and Bridge Department; - Trains, schedules, prioritizes and evaluates the work of Road Section employees; - Confers with the Assistant Road and Bridge Director to determine administrative and technical support needs, job and staffing requirements, and services for the Road and Bridge Department; - Makes and adjusts work assignments, depending on work load and equipment availability; - Investigates and takes corrective action on citizen complaints pertaining to areas of responsibility. Minimum Qualifications: - Associate Degree in Engineering Technology; and - Two (2) years' experience in supervising and coordinating construction, maintenance and repair of County roadways and heavy equipment operation; or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling four (4) years. - Commercial Driver's License Class A II with tanker endorsement minimum issued by the State of Montana.
