Special Imaging Patient Transport RADIOLOGY ADMINISTRATION (Billings Clinic Main Campus) req9211Shift: Day, Evening, WeekendsEmployment Status: Per Diem Hours per Pay Period: 0.01 = per diem (Non-Exempt) Starting Wage DOE: $17.00 - 21.25Under general supervision, the Special Imaging Transporter is responsible for providing patient transport services between the radiology department and the inpatient nursing units. Transport services include use of a variety of equipment to include but not limited to ICU beds, carts, wheelchairs, and video swallow chair and management of additional patient care equipment such as: IV poles, O2 canisters, pumps, IVACs, chest tubes, etc during the transport process. The Special Imaging Transporter may be certified in the use of certain instrumentation, i.e. glucometer, pulse oximeter and others as approved and appropriate for scope of care. The Special Imaging Transporter may be required to assist with preparation of patients for radiology exams, order entry, patient scheduling, and charge entry as necessary. The Special Imaging Transporter may provide patient instruction on preparations and/or restrictions for ancillary procedures in accordance with established policies and procedures within scope of practice.Essential Job Functions *Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service. *Demonstrates positive, supportive, and caring behaviors in communication with patient/resident, families, visitors, physicians, staff and others. Utilizes good judgment in providing transport and other assistance as deemed appropriate while ensuring all patient/guest needs are met. Communicates with families and guests who are waiting for information on patients in Radiology. *Transports patients to Radiology from inpatient nursing units and other areas throughout the facility. Utilizes proper equipment including ICU beds, carts, wheelchairs, and video swallow chair for safe patient transport. During transport process, also manages additional patient care equipment such as : IV poles, O2 canisters, pumps, IVACs, chest tubes, etc. *Schedules and enters complex orders for ancillary services via the order communication and practice management systems. May instruct patients on specific preparations and/or restrictions necessary to prepare for ancillary procedures. Involves other departments as needed for regulatory requirements. *Responsible for reviewing charge tickets for completeness. Modifies orders to reflect appropriate CPT code(s) for exam performed.
