The Practice Clinical Product Specialist (PCPS) will be primarily responsible for the implementation and training of Medtronic GIH practice customers and potential customers on clinical indications and applications for the GI portfolio technologies in partnership with their Remote Sales Account Manager. The PCPS will serve as the customer facing clinical product expert responsible for developing greater customer depth in both product and clinical understanding.Day-to-day activities include: product demonstrations to physicians and nurses in a practice on how to perform procedures with related Medtronic GIH offerings, handling product installations, technical training and troubleshooting related to clinical issues.The PCPS team may also be required depending on the needs of the business to help support and launch other products that may be developed, sold or promoted by Medtronic GIH division in the practice setting.Additionally, the PCPS is required to be continuously responsible for developing their personal greater depth of knowledge to serve as the clinical experts for the company.By doing so, the PCPS can convey this information in an effective manner to help support optimal utilization of the practice portfolio to the widest range of healthcare providers possible.
Provide clinical product demonstration and clinical education to targeted accounts through 1:1 and group interactions to increase customers understanding and proficiency of Medtronic GIH product line in the practice.Lead post-sales activities, including implementation, product education, in-servicing, and ongoing support for Medtronic GIH applications
Support remote sales strategy; working with remote sales team to achieve business plans and drive utilization of the products
Support Remote Sales Team efforts in lead generation and pre-sale clinical evaluations and demonstrations of products to demonstrate clinical value in the practice setting
Support Marketing and Remote Sales by appropriately communicating customer feedback, field product performance and competitive intelligence, as required for current technologies and product launches
Partner with Remote Sales to bring awareness around customers who could benefit from extended coverage through service contracts/plans to new and existing hospital customers
Collaborate and share best practices and other key insights with other PCPSs to help support them, their regions, and maximize the entire teams effectiveness and efficiency as well as support and train newly hired PCPS team members
Through Sales Force. Com (SFDC) update account information regarding installation, in-service and training records, as per corporate guidelines and established standard operating procedures
Other duties as assigned by Director to support the team
4-year College Degree Requiredwith a Nursing Degree, or Certificate or License in the Healthcare Field preferred.
Years of Experience
4+ years professional experience in a healthcare setting or related field
Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required
Demonstrated ability to articulate highly technical information to a diverse audience
Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues that may occur with any of Medtronic GI Solutions full suite of products
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all functional areas
Ability to multi-task and work independently
Good computer skills with specific skills in Microsoft Office: Power point, Excel, and Word
Desired/Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
Adult education and training experience
Demonstrated success in working in a team setting and matrix managed environment
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with individuals at all levels in business
Strong organization and time management skills
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
Ability to travel overnight to client facilities by auto or aircraft 50-75% of the time including some weekend travel
Usually in conjunction with an account manager, oversee successful execution of regional and local educational courses
