Humana Strategy Advancement Advisor - Remote, US in Billings, Montana


The Part D Senior Savings Model or Insulin Savings Program, is a new Medicare health plan program offered through the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). It provides insulin at an affordable and predictable cost, offering members a flat copay for their insulins through the Part D benefit. The Prescription Drug Savings Benefit for our Dual Medicare-Medicaid Special Needs Plans (DSNP) is a new benefit for 2022 also in partnership with CMMI. It offers $0 copays for all Medicare-eligible drugs. With both programs, we aim to improve member access to needed medications as way for improving health outcomes, member experience, and overall quality of life.

The Strategy Advancement Advisor will take ownership over both innovative plan design pilots, leading end-to-end processes across strategy, execution and evaluation.


In order to be successful in this role, the Strategy Advancement Advisor needs to have a passion for improving health, wellbeing and experience of our members; initiative, tenacity and people skills to drive work successfully and partner with multiple areas of the Enterprise; and strategic thinking and analytical skills to shape future direction of these initiatives and communicate to senior leaders.


  • Develops and implements member engagement strategy for full life cycle of member journey (sales/onboard/service/clinical).

  • Provides data-based strategic direction to optimize overall growth and retention, clinical, and experience strategies.

  • Develops and implements strategy with product development and markets to design benefit structures to support growth in future expansion/ change of benefits.

  • Proactively anticipates needs, creates a plan, and problem solves.

  • Partners with multiple areas of Humana to create positive impact for members and Humana, including but not limited to: clinical teams, provider teams, customer service, experience, Humana Pharmacy, MarketPoint/sales, legal/compliance, grievances and appeals, product design, analytics, technology.

  • Defines and leads creation of metrics, operating dashboards and analysis.

  • Monitors program results and drives changes for continuous improvement.

  • Works within broad objectives/goals to create strategies that have long-term impact on the segment or company.

  • Presents findings and strategy to senior level audience.

  • Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Minimum of five (5) years related experience.

  • Intermediate to advanced experience in MS Office Programs specifically PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across the enterprise to drive results.

  • Ability to think through things from multiple angles and foresee unintended consequences.

  • Highly collaborative, flexible and team oriented.

  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to perform complex qualitative and quantitative analysis.

  • Ability to identify, interpret and produce recommendations and plans based on company and external data analysis.

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.

  • Must have a separate room with a locked door that can be used as a home office to ensure you have absolute and continuous privacy while you work.

  • Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office (Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role). A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 10x1 (10mbs download x 1mbs upload) is required.

  • Associates working in the state of Arizona must comply with the Tobacco Free Hiring Policy (see details below under Additional Information) and upon offer will be subjected to nicotine testing as part of a 10-panel drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree (e.g. MBA, Master of Public Health) or Clinical Degree (e.g. Pharmacist, Social Worker, Registered Nurse).

  • Power BI experience.

  • Program management experience in a healthcare or health plan setting.

Additional Information

  • Work Style: Remote but offers flexibility to work in the office, if you reside in Louisville, KY or a commutable distance.

  • Typical Work Days/Time Zone: Monday - Friday; Eastern Standard Time (EST)

  • Travel: Minimal travel to Louisville, KY for team meetings.

Interview Format

As part of our hiring process, we will be using an exciting interviewing technology provided by Montage/Modern Hire, a third-party vendor. This technology provides our team of recruiters and hiring managers an enhanced method for decision-making.

If you are selected to move forward from your application prescreen, you will receive correspondence inviting you to participate in a pre-recorded Voice Interview and/or an SMS Text Messaging interview. If participating in a pre-recorded interview, you will respond to a set of interview questions via your phone. You should anticipate this interview to take approximately 10-15 minutes.

If participating in a SMS Text interview, you will be asked a series of questions to which you will be using your cell phone to answer the questions provided. Expect this type of interview to last anywhere from 5-10 minutes. Your recorded interview(s) via text and/or pre-recorded voice will be reviewed and you will subsequently be informed if you will be moving forward to next round of interviews.
