HDR is searching for a Structural Engineer to join our diverse and talented team of professionals in the Montana Area. Projects will primarily be buildings and structures in the following areas:

  • Buildings for medical, justice, higher education, commercial, and technology facilities.
  • Government projects such as national parks, federal facilities, and military installations.
  • Municipal public works projects, including water / wastewater treatment, storage and distribution.
  • Resources and energy projects, including power, mining, oil and gas, and solid waste facilities.
  • Transportation service facilities and transit structures.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the structural design of buildings and civil structures for a variety of project types and construction materials and methods.
  • Prepare specifications and production of drawings (in collaboration with BIM designers) for construction documents.
  • Serve projects during construction by site visits, reviewing contractor submittals to ensure they meet design intent, and addressing construction issues.
  • Participate in or lead assessments of existing structures.
  • Actively participate in multi-discipline team meetings, design charettes, client review workshops, and construction meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BS degree in Architectural Engineering; Structural emphasis
  • A minimum of 3 years structural engineer experience
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Previous structural engineer experience
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical software
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position is $85,000-$120,000 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
