St. John's Lutheran Ministries System Administrator in Billings, Montana

SUMMARY: Manage the configuration, upkeep and reliable operation of the St. John’s United network and computer systems. Work as a team to analyze and interpret information systems data to improve overall SJU services. Design and develop new or modified informatics solutions. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: RESPONSIBILITES * Monitor and maintain system health of computing resources. * Field incoming work orders from end users to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems. * Maintain system usage policies and procedures. * Manage software installation, updates and upkeep. * Maintain updated plans for redundancies, rollovers and incident recovery. * Consider security threats while performing all aspects of the job. * Maintain user permissions and administration for all applications and services. * Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope, while analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines. * Document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made. * Meet with SJU managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to identify and resolve problems. * Develop and complete projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards as well as tracking project milestones and deliverables. * Assess current or future SJU needs and priorities by communicating directly with leaders. * Apply knowledge of computer science, in collaboration with management to determine computer software or hardware needed. * Design, develop, select, test, implement, and evaluate new or modified informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support mechanisms to support SJU leaders, and their information management. * Analyze and interpret information systems data to improve overall SJU services. * Develop, implement, or evaluate health information technology applications, tools, processes, or structures to assist with data management. * Perform basic web page maintenance, planning, and development. * Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software in a lab/classroom environment. Follows the St. John’s Guidelines for Customer Service * Let the Mission be your guide * Make eye contact and smile * Greet welcome each and every person * Seek out personal contact * Provide immediate service-listen act * Use appropriate body language at all times * Be gracious to each every person ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Employee Responsibilities * Follows policy and procedures on annual TB testing. * Follows policy and procedures on annual influenza vaccinations. * Attends all mandatory in-services POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, information systems, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience. * Job requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction. * Ability to learn and perform any IT job function within a small/medium size business environment. This may include general administration, server administration, helpdesk, PC tech support, phone system, and application and security tasks. * Acquire and maintain industry certifications required. * Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation and policies for training and end user procedures. * Maintain an understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. * Excellent typing, written, oral, interpersonal, and organizational skills required. * Highly self-motivated and directed. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. * Making Decisions and Solving Problems — Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. * Processing Information — Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data. * Getting Information — Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. * Documenting/Recording Information — Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form. * Evaluating Information to Determine Compliance with Standards — Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards. * Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. * Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work — Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work. * Establishing and Maintaining Interpersonal Relationships — Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time. * Healthcare experience preferred * English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. * Full Time 40 hr/week flexible schedule. Work days negotiable. On call availability may be required.
