SUMMARY: Manage the configuration, upkeep and reliable operation of the St. John’s United network and computer systems. Work as a team to analyze and interpret information systems data to improve overall SJU services. Design and develop new or modified informatics solutions. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: RESPONSIBILITES * Monitor and maintain system health of computing resources. * Field incoming work orders from end users to resolve application and software issues within servers, databases, and other mission-critical systems. * Maintain system usage policies and procedures. * Manage software installation, updates and upkeep. * Maintain updated plans for redundancies, rollovers and incident recovery. * Consider security threats while performing all aspects of the job. * Maintain user permissions and administration for all applications and services. * Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope, while analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines. * Document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made. * Meet with SJU managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to identify and resolve problems. * Develop and complete projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards as well as tracking project milestones and deliverables. * Assess current or future SJU needs and priorities by communicating directly with leaders. * Apply knowledge of computer science, in collaboration with management to determine computer software or hardware needed. * Design, develop, select, test, implement, and evaluate new or modified informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support mechanisms to support SJU leaders, and their information management. * Analyze and interpret information systems data to improve overall SJU services. * Develop, implement, or evaluate health information technology applications, tools, processes, or structures to assist with data management. * Perform basic web page maintenance, planning, and development. * Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software in a lab/classroom environment. Work days negotiable. On call availability may be required.
