The Opportunity

Ulteig has an opportunity for a Solar Technical Manager to lead a team of solar engineers. We are seeking a creative, intelligent, entrepreneurial, driven individual with expertise in the utility scale solar industry. The ideal candidate will build and lead complex technical teams, execute projects, and support business development of the solar service offering to new and existing clients. The ideal candidate will also have a passion for solar development, creating new efficiencies, working in an exciting, fast-paced environment, while supporting multiple clients on a variety of different projects. What You'll Do

Work with the Ulteig Senior Leadership team to lead solar service offering and strategic planning

Work with customers (developers, EPCs, Utilities, and Owner/Operators) to ensure client and project expectations and success factors are understood and addressed

Grow and lead a collaborative team to ensure key functional needs are met

Provide technical leadership and coordination on large utility scale solar projects involving multi-discipline teams

Provide creative solutions for complex solar development opportunities

Be accountable for key project decisions

Aid in the development and management of strategic accounts and bidding

Coordinate communication and provide status updates to stakeholders as required

Assure quality in design work by developing and following internal QA/QC methods

What We Expect from You

Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related engineering field

PE license preferred

Minimum of 3-7 years of solar project design and team leadership experience is preferred

Strong knowledge of electrical power systems and PV design, including plant layout and performance modeling, modules, inverters, racking, and DC/AC collection systems

Strong understanding of project performance and cost drivers

Strong skills in solar project optimization for performance, cost, and constructability

Experience with early-stage solar development projects

Demonstrate the ability to be organized and work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities

Must be able to prepare clear and concise status updates and reports as required

Strong communication and client relationship skills

Proven experience in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Must be able to travel to project/client sites as required (approximately 10-15%)

Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S
