Environmental studies is a small major within an interdisciplinary department, and students who successfully complete the major will earn a BA degree. MSUB serves students from across the state and region, and our department is committed to offering courses that allow both our in-person and our online students to achieve timely graduation.We are particularly excited to review candidates with expertise in any of the following: sustainability and community resilience, water and natural resources, disaster studies, physical geography, environmental issues, impacts of climate variability, and public policy. The successful candidate will teach introduction to environmental studies, the environmental vision, human geography, water policy, and policy analysis (descriptions of these courses can be found on our website), with the opportunity to teach additional courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. The teaching load is 21 credits per year, and faculty teach courses in a variety of modalities, including in-person, online, and blended. Also, as a research faculty, the Assistant Professor must develop a solid research agenda and publication record. Finally, the faculty member shall provide service to the department, college, university, professional field, and community.
