Under general direction from the Store Manager and Service Manager, the Tire Professional - Outside Commercial position performs work related to the repair, inspection, and maintenance of commercial customer vehicles in an outdoor environment at various locations. This position may also be referred to as Truck Service, Outside Commercial Service, Road Service, or Truck/Farm Service Technician.

- Respond to roadside service calls to have tires changed
- Inspection of commercial tires for defects, holes, and tears
- Dismount and mount various types of commercial tires and wheels safely
- Identify and inflate tires safely and correctly
- Inspection of vehicles for additional service needs
- Accurately complete customer work orders
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment and shop
- Additional tasks as assigned by manager
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Primarily working outdoors at various locations including the side of the highway
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions such as heat and cold
- Frequent exposure to automotive and tire related chemicals
- Noise level in the work environment can be loud; safety equipment will be provide as needed
- Working mostly independently
- Regularly lift, upright, push, or move 50 pounds; occasionally upright, push, or move 100+ pounds
- Employee is required to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and co-workers
- Frequent standing, twisting, bending, stooping, crouching, and crawling; occasional sitting
- Must be able to see and hear to safely inspect tires and vehicles in order to assess problems and make repairs
- Frequent use of fingers and hands to feel; frequent reaching above shoulders with hands and arms
- Use basic hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, air wrench and other essential tools
- Drive a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). CMV is defined as 10,001 to 26,000 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and meet CMV driver qualification requirements including, MVR, DOT Compliance (FMCSA), DOT Drug/Alcohol Verification (FMCSA), DOT Physical, Non DOT Drug Test, and any other driving requirements as assigned by the company or regulated by law.
- Must be at least 18 years old to drive a CMV in intrastate commerce and at least 21 years old for interstate commerce
- Good oral and written communication ability
- Ability to read and verify work order information
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- TIA Certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Willingness to attend training, which may require travel
