Hydro O & M Engineering Intern
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Engineering major required
- Has successfully completed sophomore year or above
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record
- Must be in good academic standing
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders and to walk over uneven or wet terrain and surfaces
- Must provide GPA in Resume upon application
- Ability to travel to NorthWestern Energy hydro facilities within the state of Montana, some travel may be overnight
- Ability to lift and carry office supplies up to 35 pounds
- Ability to pass an employment physical, drug test and background check
- Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering major is preferred
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Learn about the operations and maintenance activities required to run hydro-electric generation facilities
- Assist Hydro O & M engineers to enhance and improve the Predictive and Preventive Maintenance programs for NWE Hydro generation equipment
- Research the latest industry trends for best-in-class maintenance practices
- Update program documentation and reference materials
- Work with operations or maintenance personnel to review and improve existing documentation
- Assist Operations, Maintenance, and engineering personnel in troubleshooting field equipment issues, and/or researching proposed solutions to equipment or operational issues
- Participate in organizational work meetings
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Full-time, temporary position; May - August.
$18.00 per hour for first year interns, $19.00 per hour for returning interns.
