JEFFERSON COUNTY Dispatch in BOULDER, Montana

The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office is currently accepting applications for a fulltime DispatchCommunications Officer position. The position will be located at the Law and Justice Center in BoulderMontana. Communications Officers operate communications equipment, answer emergency & non-emergencycalls from the general public and dispatches the appropriate law, fire and EMS units using manual andComputer Aided Dispatch systems.Requirements:- 18 Years of age- High School Diploma- Must have or be able to obtain a Montana Driver?s License- Must be of good moral character with no criminal record.o A background investigation, criminal history and pre-employment testing will be conducted.- Must successfully complete 14-week in-house training (to begin on first day of work).- Must successfully complete POST Public Safety Telecommunicator, Emergency Medical Dispatch, FireCommunications and Law Enforcement Communications courses within one year of hire.- Prior Dispatch and computer experience preferred.- Ability to type accurately at a minimum 25 wpm.- Be able to read and interpret maps and learn the geography of Jefferson County.- Must be willing and able to do shift work to include nights, weekends, holidays, on-call and occasionalovertime.- Must be willing to work well with others in a confined area for long periods of time without leaving thefacility.Beginning salary: $20.23 per hour.
