[DOJ Logo - Can also use to return to the home page] Division Overview: TheMontana Highway Patrol (MHP)maintains jurisdiction over the highways of the fourth largest state in the country. Each year our communication center fields roughly 190,000 calls and dispatches our sworn officers to serve and protect. MHP troopers are the leading experts on crash investigation and perform a vast array of tasks from providing education and maintaining traffic safety, to intercepting the transit of illegal narcotics, contraband and weapons, as well as detecting human trafficking and other criminal activity that takes place on our highways. MHP employs civilians in critical support positions such as radio technology, crash records and administrative roles. Job Overview: ThisExecutive Assistant(Administrative Assistant 3) position serves as the administrative assistant to the Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel of the Montana Highway Patrol. Work for the Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel, providing a variety of administrative and secretarial support to include coordinating office functions, support services and management’s schedules. Keeping all management staff informed of current events, the Administrator’s requests and events happening throughout the division. Handling of all correspondence, screening phone calls, scheduling meetings and performing other miscellaneous support duties. Minimum Qualifications: * Ability to handle difficult situations with members of the public. * Knowledge of general office equipment and procedures. * Two years of experience performing a variety of office support or clerical work. * Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in a law enforcement office. Notary preferred.
